The agreement covers the 2025 calls for applications, which will be managed and assessed entirely by Unibasq.

Unibasq, the Agency for Quality in the University System of Catalonia (AQU Catalunya) and the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) have signed the first agreements for ANECA to recognise the evaluations of the research activity of academic and research staff carried out by the regional agencies. In the case of Unibasq, this agreement, which came into force on 14 October, was signed by Federico Recart, director of the Agency, and Pilar Paneque, director of ANECA, and was published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) on 23 October.

Under this agreement, ANECA will recognise the research levels favorably assessed by Unibasq for academic staff at Basque universities with the same effect as if they had been assessed by the National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI), by incorporating the recognised levels into the CNEAI database.
