Evaluation of Research Activities
Unibasq actively collaborates in the evaluation of various calls for grants for Research, Development and Innovation (R+D+I) activities. In some cases, this work is carried out by the Agency in active collaboration with other agents of reference in the promotion and evaluation of the R+D+I activity.
Unibasq carries out the evaluations in accordance with the most demanding international quality standards and methodologies. To this end, the Agency relies on the external collaboration of specialised academic staff who coordinate or carry out the evaluations in accordance with the evaluation criteria established by the entity awarding the grants. Similarly, the international reference principles and standards for evaluation are considered, including the principles of specialisation, experience, independence and objectivity.
Unibasq has evaluated, among others, the following calls for activities and grants in the general field of R+D+I:
- Grants for Basic and/or Applied Research Projects of the Basque Government (2024).
- Grants for Research and Technological Innovation from the funds foreseen for University-Business actions of the Basque Government (2024).
- Call for the hiring of Research Staff in Training at the UPV/EHU (2024).
- Call for the Postdoctoral Program for the Improvement of Doctoral Research Personnel of the UPV/EHU (2024).
- Call for grants to research groups of the UPV/EHU (2024).
- Aids to support the activities of research groups of the Basque University System (2022).
- Call for University-Business-Society Research Projects of the UPV/EHU (2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024)
- Euskampus Resilience Covid19 Research Projects Program (2020).
- Euskalit- Quality Innovation (all editions from 2013 to 2024).

Evaluation Bodies
The Research Evaluation Committee is the evaluation body of Unibasq for matters related to the evaluation of research activities. Evaluations are carried out by this Committee in accordance with the Protocol for the Evaluation of Research Activities. The composition of the Committee is the following:
Arts and Humanities:
Ms. Mª Luz López Terrada, INGENIO (CSIC – Universitat Politècnica de Valencia), Scientific researcher at CSIC.
Health Sciences:
Ms. Carmen Álvarez Lorenzo, Full Professor of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Santiago de Compostela.
Experimental Sciences:
Ms. Inés María Antón Gutiérrez, Researcher at the National Center of Beiotechnology.
Social and legal sciences:
Mr. Oscar David Marcenaro Gutiérrez,Professor of Economics at the University of Málaga.
Engineering and Architecture:
Mr. Luis Martínez López, Full Professor of Computer Sciences at the University of Jaén.
